May 14, 2013. When Eugene Hamilton runs even the untrained eye can appreciate the beauty and power of his stride. Eugene has a classic upright posture that allows great knee lift and minimal back swing – a most efficient running form that has served him well.
This track season Eugene is having a year to remember. He won the prestigious Acadia Invite 800 m in a time of 1:50.19 the leading mark in the Nation at the time. He won the Stanford Invite 1500 with a time of 4:12.74 and the Sacramento Meet of Champion 1500 m for the 3rd best mark in Nation a time of 4:01.70. He won both the 800 and 1500 at the WACC League Meet and for his efforts he was voted Male Athlete of the Meet. He moves on to the NCS Regional meet with the best time in the State in the 800 meters.
Eugene is a resident of San Leandro and goes to Bishop O’Dowd High School. He has a taste for teriyaki chicken, his favorite movie is The Neverending Story and his favorite celebrity is middle distance legend Bernard Lagat.
His goals for the future will start next year with a athletic scholarship to the University of Arizona. He plans to expand his non-profit organization, to start another his own business after earning a business degree at Arizona.
