The Varsity Baseball Team won 2 out of 3 games last week to remain in 1st place. On Tues, we lost 4-1 to a very good and very well coached O’Dowd team. Kevin Nava was the hard luck loser on the mound, throwing a complete game with only 3 earned runs allowed. We bounced right back sweeping Tennyson 8-1 and 17-0 on Wed and Thur. Tim Mahanay and Ptah Asabi were solid on the mound to help the pitching staff lower their team ERA to 0.77. We are now 9-1 in league play and 14-4 overall.
The Junior Varsity lost a tough one to O’Dowd 8-6 on Tues and then beat Oak Tech on Thur to improve to 10-6. Brandon Palmer and Kyle Guerra had an outstanding week for the young Pirates
