League champion Pirates begin playoffs

After splitting 2 games with Mt Eden last week, the Varsity Baseball Team finished league play with a record of 14-2. Kevin Nava was outstanding again, throwing  a 3 hitter with 8 strikeouts in the 4-1 win on Tuesday. His league record improved to 6-1. Thursday was Senior Day. Ptah Asabi threw 6 shutout innings, giving us a 2-0 lead going to the 7th. Unfortunately, we didn’t hold the lead and lost 5-2. Much credit to Mt Eden.

This week we are in the WACC League Playoffs. We host San Lorenzo HS Tues night at 7:00 at San Leandro Ballpark. The winner will play Thursday at 400 against the winner of Mt Eden and Piedmont. That game will also be played at San Leandro Ballpark to determine the playoff champion and the automic berth into the NCS tournament next week

The Junior Varsity swept Oakland Tech last week to finish their season with a record of 15-7
