Kortni Smyers-Jones, Star Hurdler and Jumper for SL Pirates
Other San Leandro High Track and Field athletes making news are Gabrielle Cantrell, a junior, and Kortni Smyers-Jones, a senior. In the prestigious University of Washington Indoor Classic last weekend, Gabby placed 2nd over-all in the open division (including Colleges) of the 60M dash with a fine time of 7.55, and 3rd overall in the 200m with a time of 24.77. Kortni, a CA State Finalist last year, placed 5th over-all in the 60M High Hurdles.
