Ready Set Go! For Health and Fitness
The Sports Foundation is once again planning a “Run for the Schools” this Spring. This year we’re joining the City of San Leandro/YMCA Fitness Fair scheduled for April 27, registration begins at 11:30, competitive run is a 12:30 and the Family Fun Run starts at 2:00 at Manor Park in San Leandro (Because Marina Park in San Leandro is under construction). SLSFI is planning to conduct a 1 mile cross-country race. Depending on the number of entrants, we’ll run multiple races by age groups. We’re also hoping to add an obstacle course. Entrance fee will be $5/student and $10/adult. Schools will keep 100% of pre-event fees. So, if a school signs up 25 parents/teachers and 50 students, that’s $500 in easy cash. Medals will be awarded to top racers and every student entrant gets a ribbon.
