I would like to give everyone an update on our season so far, and also give you some dates to save for upcoming events.
Our Varsity team is currently 6-1 overall and 3-0 in league play. We have had a walkoff win in the bottom of the 9th and two walkoff wins in the bottom of the 10th. My hair is much grayer now, so hopefully you will still recognize me when we see each other. Our 3-0 league record consists of wins vs Castro Valley 6-0, Encinal 9-6 and Alameda 2-1. Our Junior Varsity is also doing well with an overall record of 5-2.
ALUMNI GAME is Saturday March 30, 11:00 at San Leandro Ballpark. It would be nice to have an approximate head count, so try and let me know if you can make it. If the weather is questionable, you can call me to find out if we are still on.
TOMMY T’s COMEDY NIGHT is Friday, April 19 at 7:30. I will send out another email the first week of April with more information.
GOLF TOURNAMENT will be on Friday, Sept 20 at 12:30, followed by dinner at Francesco’s. More to come later.
I am taking the boys on a road trip April 1-3 to Atwater to play in their Easter Tournament. I’m still trying to find the best deal on transportation. Does anyone have any connections with van rentals? We need to transport 16 players and 2 coaches. I have a reservation with Avis, but would love a better option.
The San Leandro Sports Foundation has been very supportive of our athletic programs. Martin Capron is the man in charge and has started a website for people to follow our sports programs. I try and write something once a week or so. If you would like to check it out, go to www.slsfi.org.
I am very proud of our boys and the progress we have made in our second year together. It would not be possible without the help of people who care.
